Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) GATE. A dream come true. .. WINNING 11.. FUTA CLASS OF 2011 - Toyosi Craig

Image
Old FUTA gate Earlier in February, 2004. I attended an AONIAN games (high school olympics) in Owo. my school principal, Mr. F.O. Ogun had to drive us (Ebunoluwa Oluwaferanmi Lanre Shonoiki Bakenne Sulaiman Abiodun and Omotoyosi Craig II) down to meet other students who left earlier, we were going to represent our city (Abeokuta) in the academic part of the games. When we got to Akure, my principal showed us FUTA, and asked who would like to attend the university, (we were about writing Matric. then)..none of us said Yes.. and to break the silence, I said, who would attend a school that the gate looked worse than that of our high school..?   However, a year and a half later I was a student of that school, FUTA.. .. I was laughing at myself and said only one thing on entering the gate of the school.. "I WILL NOT LEAVE THIS GATE LIKE THIS ON GRADUATION".. 5 years passed and I was a member of our graduating set executives chaired by Toluwanimi Kolawole, I was to le

AG: What is your view about education in Africa as compared to the rest of the world Malira:  This is a broad question, so I’ll only focus on what I think education in Africa lacks. I think since gaining independence from colonialism, Africa has not yet embraced her opportunities to re-present herself to the world. By this, I mean, the current African educational curriculum is just a replica of that of rest of the world, which is not supposed to be. Africa is unique in some significantly aspects, like history, c

TO SEPARATE THE TARES FROM THE WHEAT..

Image
So noble, so sweetening, the victory of weeks passed.. which comes with a price: TO SEPARATE THE TARES FROM THE WHEAT.. Nothing personal, but I believe few among us are still on the pay role of the vipers of this passing generation for bad stuffs. Many are still going to be.. there will be a lot of cash flows and temptations in the months to come..so you should choose if you are for us or against us.. The victory of these weeks, a stone of grace or a rock of discord, I choose the former.. YES WE CAN.. and we will.. It is a parable, but also a clarion call to all patriotic, enthusiastic, smart and intelligent young Nigerians who are champions in their field of calling in all parts of the world, to prepare for a swift and common course, which is not about what or who we know as individuals but about what we can do as one.. God bless Nigeria. God bless Africa Before nursing that idea.. ask yourself these sincere questions, Am I prepared for this? Am I who we need now?.. Am I ready?

Restrictions on Nigerian passport: A form of slavery or an abuse of our right to mobility - Toyosi Craig

Image
I am I the only one who feels like the restrictions on Nigerian passport to many countries is a kind of slavery or an abuse of our right to mobility (that is, the need for visas to visit most countries, including  S/America, Africa and Asia, even when the trip is of noble course)..? After getting a visa to S/Korea I still needed another visa to Jeju Island (An island inside Korea)... now travelling to Chile (no straight flight, so I have to go Brazil first), I need a transit visa to Brazil, after getting a Visitor Visa to Chile.. What are all these evil.. Last year, the Brazilian embassy had to call me to send my parents name after I had filled it in their online application... as if I was a minor, or that a Nigerian cannot be Craig.. their consulate gave me a visa with  the exact number of days I was gonna stay and I had to pay expensive air ticket fees to stay within my visa dates.. What is it with the world.. Why is the world scared of us.. how many evil have been perpetrated
