Old FUTA gate Earlier in February, 2004. I attended an AONIAN games (high school olympics) in Owo. my school principal, Mr. F.O. Ogun had to drive us (Ebunoluwa Oluwaferanmi Lanre Shonoiki Bakenne Sulaiman Abiodun and Omotoyosi Craig II) down to meet other students who left earlier, we were going to represent our city (Abeokuta) in the academic part of the games. When we got to Akure, my principal showed us FUTA, and asked who would like to attend the university, (we were about writing Matric. then)..none of us said Yes.. and to break the silence, I said, who would attend a school that the gate looked worse than that of our high school..?   However, a year and a half later I was a student of that school, FUTA.. .. I was laughing at myself and said only one thing on entering the gate of the school.. TUM is ranked no 1 in Germany and no 60 in the world. The institution will be engaging TC and few others on Energy, Water and Food Technologies in Africa. The highly referred event, will see TC engage with other like minds from Africa and Europe on issues like, multi-environmental governance, environmental policies, nutrition in  west Africa, electricity demand and renewable energy in Africa. In his acceptance letter, TC said, “this an avenue to form good networks with other like minds and I hope to contribute to fulfilling the aims for starting such a good programme” TC said he looks forward to meeting Ayodeji Okunlola, a like mind and an Alumnus of TUM.

The platform is like a family affair. 6 months after, we were able to discover Toyosi Craig, a young talented engineer in his 20s. Unfortunately, he wasn’t reckoned with here in Nigeria. Now, he is doing well in South Africa. Through the platform, he had the opportunity to relate with the elders on the platform. His issue was discussed here and that led to his breakthrough. So noble, so sweetening, the victory of weeks passed.. which comes with a price: TO SEPARATE THE TARES FROM THE WHEAT.. Nothing personal, but I believe few among us are still on the pay role of the vipers of this passing generation for bad stuffs. Many are still going to be.. there will be a lot of cash flows and temptations in the months to come..so you should choose if you are for us or against us.. The victory of these weeks, a stone of grace or a rock of discord, I choose the former.. YES WE CAN.. and we will.. It is a parable, but also a clarion call to all patriotic, enthusiastic, smart and intelligent young Nigerians who are champions in their field of calling in all parts of the world, to prepare for a swift and common course, which is not about what or who we know as individuals but about what we can do as one.. God bless Nigeria. God bless Africa Before nursing that idea.. ask yourself these sincere questions, Am I prepared for this? Am I who we need now?.. Am I ready?
